I believe that's a Fork-tailed Bush Katydid, female - you can see the shape of her lady bits through her wings. I photographed a nymph in my own garden last month. The eat plants, but I'll take them vs. damn dirty slugs any day.
Thanks John! The only "bugs" I get rid of are the slugs and snails. The goldfish sometimes get a caterpillar as a treat.
