Just for Fun - Rudbeckia maxima

Some of the Portland Bloggers have been talking about this plant recently, so I thought I would collage together some pictures that help show how tall this plant really gets.

Rudbeckia maxima (Giant Coneflower)— Incredible drought tolerant wildflower. Tall 5-7’ and bold. Huge basal leaves of powder blue and giant stalks of deep golden coneflowers in summer. Water 2-3 times per week until established. Prefers consistent soil moisture. The central cones are 4-6" tall! A conversation piece. Finches eat the seed. Zones 4-9.

This is the usual picture you get standing under it!
