Today's Favorite Plant - Cypella coelestis

Of course this plant had two blooms open the day AFTER my open garden!

Goblet Flower is an Iris relative and blooms July-September. Each stem blooms multiple times, but each flower only lasts a day.  The flowers open in the morning and start to fade before night fall. Cypella coelestis has lovely pale silver-blue flowers with a brown and yellow interior. This one gets about 2' tall and clumps in full sun, in good, well-drained soil. It does appreciate some summer water though.

    1. There is also a lovely yellow variety that gets about half as tall as the blue: Cypella herbertii

  2. Nice! I like how it takes over after the irises are done... extends the show, so to speak!

    1. It will bloom progressively up the stem, so you will get another flower in a day or two.
